“He’s a terrific scorer as he showed in his days in the Big East. He has great range; the NBA three-point line right now is not an issue. You’d like him a little bit taller but the kid is a flat out scorer so he is a guy that we’re going to have to look where we are.”
Steve Burtt
The kid you can tell is athletic. Most left-handers look natural shooting the ball and he looks like that. He can score and I can see where he could get 25 points per game (season average) and be a terrific player in the MAAC.
Matt Haryasz
“Very active, high energy kid. This kid has a lot of energy and will defend which our coach likes.”
Kevin Pittsnogle
“Excellent shooter. Big body, a strong kid who will bang you inside.”
Quincy Douby Comments:
About his weight:
“I know I can definitely add more weight but I’m really not too concerned because the Big East is one of toughest physical conferences and I was able to score 25 (points) consistently. It’s not a big deal to me I’m just going to continue to work and get my body to where it's supposed to be.”
On the workout:
“This was a tough workout (but) I have no complaints. They want to see if they can break you so you just have to be mentally strong and keep fighting through it, even if you’re tired, you just got to keep working.”
On leaving school early:
“I just thought it was the right decision (to leave early). I thought I was ready. I felt that I did enough at the Rutgers program and helped them out as much as I could. I felt that I was ready to begin my career.”
On the comparison to Kerry Kittles:
“I definitely think so but I think I can put it on the floor a little better. He’s an awesome player, that’s a real good person to be compared to so I can’t complain about that.”
