Brook Lopez Medical Update - March 21, 2014

Brooklyn, NY – Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez underwent successful left ankle surgery on March 3, 2014, General Manager Billy King announced today. The procedure, performed by Nets' foot and ankle specialist Dr. Martin O'Malley, included tightening the lateral ankle ligaments, as well as repairing a torn tendon. Lopez suffered left ankle sprains twice this season; the first occurring on Nov. 15 at Phoenix, and the second on Dec. 12 versus the Los Angeles Clippers, resulting in a combined nine games missed.

Lopez, who underwent season-ending surgery on Jan. 4 to repair a fractured fifth metatarsal of his right foot, is expected to return to basketball activities sometime in June.
