ATLANTIC YARDS DEVELOPMENT FAQ’S

1. How many more seasons will the Nets play at Continental Airlines Arena?
At least two seasons, 2007-2008 and 2008-2009.

2. What is the process of buying season and individual tickets in Brooklyn?
In the coming months the Nets will be launching a priority seating list for fans interested in season tickets and other ticket plans for Brooklyn. Those who currently have season tickets (full season, half season and mini-plans), or who purchase season tickets while the team is still playing at Continental Airlines Arena, will be placed at the top of the priority list and will have their seat selections filled first, in that order. An allotment of individual game tickets will also be held for each game and will go on sale in the Fall of 2009. 3. What guarantee do current Nets season ticket holders have that they will have access to comparable seats in Brooklyn?
Season ticket holders who maintain their seats for the remaining seasons at Continental Airlines Arena will have the ability to obtain comparable seats in the new arena.

4. Can season ticket holders upgrade their seats for Brooklyn?
As with the current policy in place, upgrade requests must be made with renewal commitments and are processed in priority order by tenure. We will maintain the same system for the move.

5. When do season ticket holders need to commit to transferring their season tickets to Brooklyn?
We anticipate that the arena will be completed for tip-off in the 2009-2010 season. The Nets will play at Continental Airlines Arena until the move and season ticket holders must maintain their commitment for all consecutive seasons prior to the move in order to qualify for comparable seats in the new arena. We anticipate that season ticket holders will make specific seat selections during the year prior to the new arena’s opening.

6. Will the ticket prices remain the same in Brooklyn?
While prices have yet to be determined, tickets will remain comparable and competitive within the marketplace.

7. Where is the new Arena located? What type of neighborhood is that?
The new Frank Gehry-designed arena will be located at the intersection of Flatbush and Atlantic Avenues, an area in close proximity to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, the central branch of the Brooklyn Public Library, and the Brooklyn Museum. It is within easy walking distance from several neighborhoods, such as Park Slope and Fort Greene. The new arena and development will add a dynamic, diverse, and urban cultural center to the area.

8. How far will the arena be from the Meadowlands?
Fifteen miles.

9. What does the new Arena look like?
The arena is designed to occupy 850,000 square feet with 18,000 seats for Nets games and 20,500 seats for other events. Designed by world-renowned architect Frank Gehry, the design of the arena invites the outside in: the arena’s Atlantic and Flatbush Avenue façades will be expanses of glass, allowing patrons on the concourses inside to glimpse the vibrant life of downtown Brooklyn and flooding the inside with natural light during the day.

10. What is Atlantic Yards?
The $4 billion Atlantic Yards project will transform an area that is largely underutilized into a vibrant mixed-use community. The project will create thousands of jobs and provide an arena, commercial office space, 2,250 units of affordable housing, and market rate housing for which there is significant demand in Brooklyn. The 18,000 seat sports and entertainment venue will serve as home to the Nets, bringing professional sports back to Brooklyn for the first time since the departure of the Dodgers to Los Angeles in 1957.

11. How will I get to the new arena? Will there be adequate parking?
The arena will be located directly over New York City's third largest subway hub, with 10 subway lines and the LIRR stopping at the arena, making it a 10 minute ride from downtown Manhattan and 20 minutes from Midtown. There will also be parking lots in close proximity to the arena for those who choose to drive. Detailed directions to Atlantic Yards are below.
