Nets Acquire Quinton Ross from Washington for Yi Jianlian

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.—The New Jersey Nets have acquired guard/forward Quinton Ross from the Washington Wizards in exchange for forward Yi Jianlian and cash considerations, Nets President Rod Thorn announced today.

Ross, a six-year NBA veteran out of Southern Methodist University, played in 52 games last season for the Mavericks and Wizards, with averages of 1.8 points in 10.8 minutes per game.  The 6’6” guard/forward holds career averages of 4.3 points and 2.2 rebounds in 422 games with the Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, Dallas Mavericks and Washington Wizards.

Yi Jianlian, acquired by New Jersey on June 26, 2008, played in 113 games with the Nets over two seasons, averaging 10.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.  Over the course of his three year career, Yi holds NBA averages of 9.6 points and 5.8 rebounds in 179 games.
