NETS Basketball to Hold Toy Drive at
NETS-Jazz Game on Wednesday, Dec. 16

Fans Encouraged to Bring a New, Unwrapped Toy to the Game
December 11, 2009

East Rutherford, NJ - NETS Basketball will hold its annual toy drive on Wednesday, December 16 when the team hosts the Utah Jazz at the IZOD CENTER. The NETS are teaming with Family Promise for the toy drive, which will benefit homeless children and children from low-income families in the metropolitan area.

Fans are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the game. Toy bins will be located at the IZOD CENTER Box Office lobby, at every gate, and at the Winners’ Club. All fans who donate a toy will receive a voucher for a future NETS game.

In addition, NETS star Devin Harris will make a donation of toys through his 34 Ways to Assist Foundation.

Fans can purchase a reduced-priced ticket for the game, with a portion of the proceeds supporting Family Promise’s efforts in the local community.  For information, fans can go to www.njnets.com, or they can contact Christie Freid at cfreid@njnets.com or at 201-806-3776.

Family Promise is a national non-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence.  Based in Summit, NJ, Family Promise was found in 1988 on the belief that Americans are compassionate people who want to make a difference.
