EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.NETS player Terrence Williams has donated $10,000, which was matched by the NETS Foundation, for the purchase of $20,000 worth of toys for children ages 18 months to 14 years old through Newark Now’s Brighter Holiday.

Williams and NETS mascot Sly will distribute the toys to children on Saturday, December 11 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the JFK Recreation Center at 211 West Kinney Street in Newark, NJ.

In addition, the NETS held a recent toy drive at a game to benefit this event.

“I’m happy to give back to the kids of Newark,” said Williams. “No child should ever be without a toy during the holidays and I hope this helps to put smiles on the children’s faces.”

Every year, thousands of challenged Newark families have benefited from Newark Now and have received social services, toys, clothing, and food each holiday season through the Brighter Holiday campaign.  For more information call 973-733-3460 or visit
