LAWRENCE FRANK, Head Coach
On Vince Carter sitting behind the Nets bench during tonight's game... "It just speaks volume about the guy's character. It is one thing for the guy to show up, it is another thing to sit behind the bench and give instructions to guys he doesn't even know. That is why Vince is such a unique person. Let alone the fact of what he is as a player, but what he is as a person."
On Chris Douglas-Roberts... "I think that what was impressive about what Chris did today was that he didn't press today. He bounced back and responded in a big way. That's what you want to see. How do guys handle getting knocked down, and he got right back up and played very, very well."
On Brook Lopez... "I think Brook keeps getting better. Each game he keeps making strides. He has shown a comfort level with his post moves. He has a nice touch. You would say that yesterday his second half was better than his previous one, and I think today was a more complete game than the one that he played prior. You like to see that improvement."
On what he hopes to see out of the Nets in their final two summer league games... "You just want to see how guys improve both as a team and individually. I think we did a lot better today. We did a good job of defending the ball and being in the right help position. Offensively, five guys were in double figures. We want to continue to build on what we are doing, and for the guys that struggled, you try to see if they can make the corrections on the fly."
SEAN WILLIAMS, Forward
On tonight's game..."It was a great overall team effort tonight. Everybody came in and did their job. Everybody chipped in. We cut our turnovers down."
CHRIS DOUGLAS-ROBERTS, Forward
On playing in summer league... "I'm comfortable now. My legs are under me. Every time I get in the flow of the game early I'm going to have a good day, and that's what I did today."
On whether he plays with a chip on his shoulder because he slipped in the 2008 NBA Draft... "Definitely. I'm going to have to play like that my whole career. It was kind of a blessing in disguise that I'm seeing a lot of the teams that passed up on me, and I get to kind of slap them in the face. It is a good thing because I ended up somewhere where I have a great opportunity. Obviously the organization likes me as a player. I've always been a hungry player, and this makes me even more hungry. I've always had to prove myself on every level, and this is the last level that I have to prove myself."
On playing against his former teammate Derrick Rose tomorrow... "It is going to be just like practice. It is bittersweet because that is my old teammate. We care for each other so much, but we are both great competitors, so we are going to be going at each other."
BROOK LOPEZ, Center
On playing with Chris Douglas-Roberts... "It is great. I played with CDR before the draft, and he has always played like this. He really tries to get in there defensively, and that really helps us out when he is forcing turnovers and making plays."
On playing with the Nets..."I think that I'm in a great position. We've got a lot of young guys who bring a lot of energy. We are learning a lot. We're playing hard and we're picking it up as we go along."
On improving as summer league goes on..."I'm just trying to gain experience out there. I'm trying to take it game by game. I just really want to make myself better, to come out and know that I've improved. I thought that I made a really big step defensively today, helping stop penetration and play help side defense. The coaches told me to make adjustments, to keep one eye on my man and one eye on the ball, and get out and stop penetration before they get inside."
WILL CONROY, Guard
On how he sees himself fitting in with the Nets... "I'm not coming in here to take someone's position, I'm just here trying to get a roster spot and help this team win. Hopefully I'm going to be able to stick around for awhile here and step up. I've been around the point for awhile. To the young guys this is a big experience. This is my third summer league experience. You are just trying to do what coach tells you to do, and at the end of the day, wait and see what happens."
