East RutherfordThe Nets are holding auditions for the nationally acclaimed NETSational Seniors dance team for the 2008-09 NBA season on Thursday, September 25th at the Nets Headquarters at 390 Murray Hill Parkway, East Rutherford, NJ. Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m and the auditions will begin at 6:00 p.m.

The NETSational Seniors, presented by SportsCare Institute, are a group of men and women age 60 and over who perform hip-hop routines at select Nets home games throughout the season.

Since its debut during the 2006-07 season, the NETSational Seniors have received standing ovations at Nets games and have performed on national television shows including Good Morning America, the Today show, the CBS Early Show, and The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet, and have been featured on Saturday Night Live.

Most recently, the NETSational Seniors were the subject of the documentary film Gotta Dance, which made its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in May 2008.

Participants who audition should wear comfortable clothing to dance in, as well as sneakers or dance shoes. (High-heeled shoes will not be allowed on the gym floor.) Choreography will be taught at the audition, so there is no need to come with a prepared routine. For more information, please email entertainment@njnets.com or call 201-635-3147.
