Nets Sign Planinic
East Rutherford, NJ (July 11, 2003) - The New Jersey Nets have signed guard Zoran Planinic, Nets President/General Manager Rod Thorn announced today. As per club policy, terms of the agreement were not announced.
‘We are very pleased to add Zoran to our roster,” said Thorn. “ He is a 6-7 guard who should add youth and depth to our backcourt.”
The 20-year old Planinic, the 22nd pick in the recent 2003 NBA Draft, is a native of Croatia. He played in 18 Euroleague contests last season, averaging 7.8 points and 2.8 assists, shooting 51 percent from the field.
Planinic will wear # 10.
