NETS and McDonald's to Offer Free Youth Basketball Clinics

First Future Stars Clinic on Saturday, July 17
at Monsignor Kett Playground in Manhattan

July 16, 2010

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.NETS Basketball and McDonalds New York Metro are teaming to offer free basketball clinics at local youth basketball tournaments this summer in New York and New Jersey. The clinic age groups vary by tournament, ranging from eight to 19 year olds.

A NETS legend will help lead each of the clinics, with the first tipping-off Saturday, July 17 at noon when Darryl Dawkins attends the clinic at the Dyckman Basketball Tournament at the Monsignor Kett Playground at 204th Street and Nagle Avenue in Manhattan.

McDonalds New York Metro is honored and excited to partner with NETS basketball in support of youth clinics in communities throughout the region, said Paul Hendel, president of the New York Tri-State Area McDonalds Owners and Operators Association. We are committed to giving back in the neighborhoods in which we do business and hope this helps add excitement and activity to the communities youth throughout the summer.

In addition to the basketball instruction, participants receive a NETS t-shirt and a pair of tickets to a NETS home game during the 2010-11 season at the Prudential Center. The NETS will also hold a series of competitions with select participants, with winners receiving player autographed basketballs and official NETS jerseys.
