With the Orlando Pre-Draft camp coming to a close this weekend, the Nets will move into the next phase of their draft preparation as they begin holding individual player workouts. Beginning on June 4, and throughout the month, the Nets front office/scouting staff will bring more than 40 first and second round prospects to the practice facility where they will be measured, weighed, interviewed and run through an array of on court drills in order to gauge each player’s talent and how it will translate to the next level.
In just the first few days of workouts, the Nets basketball staff will get a close up look at a number of first round prospects and potential lottery picks. Wednesday’s workout is highlighted by 6’9” forward Darrell Arthur, fresh off of his national championship run at Kansas. Arthur will be pitted against Big Ten Player of the Year, DJ White, out of Indiana. Thursday, the Nets will host two seven-foot centers projected to go in the first round in Robin Lopez (Stanford) and JaVale McGee (Nevada). A pair of small forwards highlight Friday’s workout, when Brandon Rush, out of Kansas and Chase Budinger, out of Arizona work out for Nets brass. They will be joined by another first round prospect in Marresse Speights, a power forward out of Florida. A busy week of workouts will conclude on Saturday, June 7, with projected first round picks, Chris Douglas-Roberts (Memphis), Alexis Ajinca (France) and DeVon Hardin (California).
Below is a complete list of the 22 players who will work out for the Nets during the first week.
