NETS WAIVE MATEEN CLEAVES

East Rutherford, NJ–The New Jersey Nets have requested waivers on guard Mateen Cleaves, Nets President Rod Thorn announced today.

Cleaves, who signed with the Nets on October 1, 2007, averaged 4.3 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists in three preseason contests for the Nets, including one start.

The Nets preseason roster now stands at 17.
