NETS, Healthfirst NJ Align for NBA Fit

NETS Basketball Hosting Youth Basketball Clinics
for Local New Jersey Residents

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.NETS Basketball is aligning with Healthfirst NJ to celebrate 2012 NBA FIT Live Healthy Week. During this annual initiative presented by the National Basketball Association from January 25 - February 2, 2012, NETS Basketball and Healthfirst NJ will host two youth basketball clinics for children ages 8-14.

Children from the Boys & Girls Clubs of New Jersey and Brooklyn, NY will attend a clinic on Saturday, January 28 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the PNY Center, the NETS’ Basketball facility in East Rutherford, featuring NETS players MarShon Brooks, Johan Petro, Sundiata Gaines, Damion James, and Larry Owens. In addition, students from St. Philip’s Academy in Newark, NJ will participate in a clinic at the school with former NETS center Darryl Dawkins on Monday, January 30 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

NBA FIT Live Healthy Week is a part of NBA/WNBA FIT, the NBA’s comprehensive health and wellness program that encourages physical activity and healthy living for children and families through grassroots programs, events, products and promotional opportunities. During the week, NBA league players inform, educate, and engage children and families in healthy living practices, encouraging them to incorporate fitness and wellness practices into their daily routine.
