East Rutherford, N.J.—In the new Match-Up Plan basketball fans will get to see NBA stars visit the NETS at the IZOD CENTER such as Kobe Bryant and the 2009 NBA Champion Lakers, NBA MVP LeBron James, Shaquille O’Neal and the Cavaliers, Dwyane Wade and the Heat, Dwight Howard, Vince Carter and the Eastern Conference Champion Magic, and the Celtics’ trio of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen.

For every two tickets purchased under the Match-Up Plan, fans will receive a dual-player reversible jersey – one side featuring a star opponent, the other featuring a Nets star, such as Devin Harris or Brook Lopez.   The Match-Up Plan starts at $350 per ticket. The Match-Up jerseys will only be available with the purchase of the Match-Up Plan.

“The NBA is a star-driven league and we want to give basketball fans the chance to see the best Match-Ups under one plan,” said NETS CEO Brett Yormark. “In giving out reversible jerseys that include NETS players and stars of opposing teams, we hope to encourage more basketball fans to see the NETS play against the league’s best players. Part of the excitement of watching the NBA is not only rooting for your favorite team, but also to watch the league’s superstars. With so many great players in the NBA, we look forward to an exciting atmosphere at our games this season.”

Coming off the NETS’ successful summer ticket campaign in which they sold over 1,000 new full-season tickets for the 2009-10 season, the Match-Up Plan tips-off the NETS’ major ticket launch for the coming season. After Labor Day, the NETS will support the Match-Up Plan with a full marketing campaign that will be featured on radio, billboards, and television.

The Match-Up Plan games include: Oct. 30 home opener vs. the Magic; Nov. 7 vs. the Celtics; Nov. 21 vs. the Knicks; Dec. 2 vs. Jason Kidd and the Mavericks; Dec. 19 vs. the Lakers; Jan. 2 vs. the Cavaliers; Jan. 27 vs. first pick in the 2009 NBA Draft Blake Griffin and the Clippers; Feb. 17 vs. the Heat; March 3 vs. the Cavaliers; and March 29 vs. newly acquired Richard Jefferson and the Spurs.
