NETS Basketball to Host Latin Family Night

Presenting Sponsor Goya Celebrates 75th Anniversary

Latin Family Night Presented by Goya in Association with Vonage

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.NETS Basketball will honor the Latin community and Goyas 75th Anniversary by hosting Latin Family Night when the NETS host the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday, January 22 at Prudential Center in Newark. Latin Family Night is presented by Goya Foods, Inc. in association with Vonage.

The night will begin with a U.S. National Anthem performance by recording artist and Newark, NJ native Frankie Negrn. At halftime, the audience will be treated to a mother and son salsa duet by renowned Latin dancers Nelida Tirado and Eddie Torres Jr.

Other features of the night include a performance by the senior dance team from the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club in the Bronx; Prudential Center food provider Centerplate will feature Latin dishes seasoned with Goya products in the High Point Solutions VIP Lounge, CURE Courtside Club, and The Acela Restaurant; Goya/NETS Los Nets t-shirts will be distributed to the first 5,000 fans to enter Prudential Center; and Vonage/NETS commemorative Latin Family Night themed posters will be distributed to everyone in attendance upon departure.

The NETS will also honor Councilman At-Large Carlos M. Gonzalez and his wife, Deputy Mayor of Newark Margarita Muiz, for making a strong impact in Latin and non-Latin communities.

I think its great that the NETS will celebrate Latin heritage, said NETS center Brook Lopez. There is a large Latin population in the metropolitan area and I feel that it is important for us to continue to reach out to that community and invite everyone to become a part of NETS Basketball.
