NETS FORWARD AND HIS FOUNDATION PARTNER WITH FEED THE CHILDREN TO HOST THE JARVIS HAYES THANKSGIVING GIVEAWAY
--400 Atlanta Children and Families Will Receive Free Food--

East Rutherford, N.J. — Atlanta native and New Jersey Nets Forward Jarvis Hayes and his Foundation are teaming up with international hunger relief organization Feed The Children to host the Jarvis Hayes Thanksgiving Giveaway. On Friday, Nov. 14 at 2 p.m., 400 families in need will be given boxes of food and personal care items at Compassion Atlanta, (1300 Simpson Road NW). Representatives from the Jarvis Hayes Foundation will be on hand to distribute the food to families.

“There are so many families in our community experiencing hard times right now, especially during the holiday’s,” said Hayes, Founder and President of The Jarvis Hayes Foundation. “Its important for the community to come together to help provide the less fortunate with the tools necessary to have a better tomorrow.”

The Jarvis Hayes Foundation sponsored this truck distribution.

Compassion Atlanta pre-identified the families who will each receive over 40 pounds of food and personal hygiene items.

“Thanks to Jarvis Hayes and his Foundation, this day will be much brighter for 400 families in Atlanta,” said Larry Jones, founder and president of Feed The Children. “As the temperature continues to drop, people begin spending their hard-earned money on the heating bill instead of much needed items such as food for their family. This is a huge blessing to these families and because of that, we send our most sincere ‘Thank you!’ to Jarvis, the Jarvis Hayes Foundation and his family!

Established in May 2007, the Jarvis Hayes Foundation is designed to create and support programs and initiatives that assist children and those in need in order to create a better world for everyone. The Foundation benefits a number of programs including: Support and Advocacy for the homeless, support for children living with cancer and diabetes, programs to assist children with life skills, mentoring, academics and athletics to develop well-rounded young adults.
