Nets Basketball to Host First Annual NETS Kids Hip Hop Intensive
August 9, 2010
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.—NETS Basketball will host its first annual NETS Kids Hip Hop Intensive August 10-12 from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the PNY Center, 390 Murray Hill Parkway in East Rutherford.
This three-day series of classes will be taught by NETS Kids coach Siobhan St. John and the NETS Dancers. Participants, who must be ages 6-13, will be taught a new piece of Hip Hop choreography each night and will receive the ultimate edge at this summer's NETS Kids auditions. The fee is $75 for the three-class intensive, or $30 for each individual class. Call 201-635-3147 to register.
Auditions for the NETS Kids dance team will be held Tuesday, August 17, at 6:00 p.m. at the PNY Center. The NETS are seeking boys and girls ages 6-13 with at least two years of technical dance training. Dancers will be asked to demonstrate their ability to learn and perform choreography. Tumbling and break-dancing skills are a plus, but not required. Participants should wear dance attire and non-marking sneakers or dance shoes. One parent must be present at registration to sign a participation waiver.
The 2010-11 NETS Kids will perform at all weekend NETS home games at the Prudential Center and at events throughout the New York metropolitan area. All positions are paid.
