Hayes and Boone To Host Basketball Clinic in Brooklyn
ADA Endorsed Initiative Combats Childhood Obesity in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y.—NETS players Jarvis Hayes and Josh Boone will team with the Lutheran Family Health Centers and Health Plus of Brooklyn to conduct the 2nd annual “Shoot for Better Health” basketball clinic for 100 kids at Sunset Park High School, 153 35th Street in Brooklyn, TOMORROW, Tuesday, March 2, from 2:15 p.m. to 3: 45 p.m.
NETS Dancers and NETS mascot Sly will entertain the youngsters, who range from kindergarten through 12th grade, and who represent six schools in Brooklyn.

WHO: NETS players Jarvis Hayes and Josh Boone, NETS Dancers, NETS mascot "Sly" and 100 kids, kindergarten through twelfth grade, representing six schools in Brooklyn.
WHAT: Teaming with Lutheran Family Health Centers and Health Plus, the NETS basketball clinic will help kids Shoot for Better Health and score a perfect 5-2-1-0 every day. The event is aimed toward getting children interested in their fitness and the importance of healthy eating habits.

WHERE: Sunset Park High School, 153 35th Street, Brooklyn.
WHY: Endorsed by the American Diabetes Association, this unique initiative is aimed at reducing obesity and obesity related chronic diseases among children. The 5-2-1-0 plan for good health means eating five servings of fruits and vegetables, limiting TV and computer time to only two hours a day, getting at least one hour of exercise a day, and drinking zero soda or sugar sweetened drinks. Star students, who eat healthy and follow the 5-2-1-0 plan, will be publicly honored during the NETS-Sacramento Kings game at the IZOD CENTER on Wednesday, March 24.
