Booker, NETS Basketball, & Party City to Distribute 500 Free Costumes

Event to start at 4 p.m.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.Newark Mayor Cory A. Booker, NETS Basketball CEO Brett Yormark, Party City President Lisa Laube, and Party City Vice President of Marketing Bill Furtkevic will be at the Prudential Center TOMORROW, Wednesday, October 27, from 4 p.m. 4:45 p.m. to distribute 500 free costumes to Newark children in time for Halloween.

The children are part of Newark Now, which was founded by Mayor Booker in 2003 to provide Newark residents with skills, tools, and support to transform their neighborhoods.

NETS Legend Darryl Dawkins and NETS radio broadcaster Chris Carrino will also attend the event.

We are grateful to the NETS and Party City for helping to make this years Halloween a memorable time for Newarks youth who will now be able to show off brand new costumes when they go trick or tricking, said Mayor Booker. Today is a great day in our city as the NETS not only open the regular season with their first game in the state-of-the-art Prudential Center, but also become one of our latest and greatest community partners. Newark is on the rise as a major league city!

Every child should have a costume for Halloween and we are thrilled to work with Party City to help make this happen, said NETS CEO Brett Yormark. We appreciate working with Mayor Booker and our new team sponsor Party City and look forward to a wonderful afternoon for the children.

The event will take place in the CURE Courtside Club. Media should enter through the VIP Mulberry Street entrance. Media covering the event should contact Barry Baum in advance to request a credential for tomorrows NETS-Pistons game at the Prudential Center.
