NETS to Award 3 Students with Scholarships

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.—In recognition of the NETS' 35-year history in New Jersey, the team will award the $35,000 Nets Foundation Appreciation Scholarship to three students from New Jersey who attend an accredited college or university in New Jersey in the 2012-13 school year.

The scholarship fund will be divided among three deserving students based on academics and community service.

Students interested in applying can email their request for the scholarship application to crelations@njnets.com or call the NETS Community Relations Department at (201) 635-3145. The scholarship-winning students will be honored at a NETS home game in April.

"Education is an essential foundation in life and we look forward to awarding this scholarship to three deserving college students in New Jersey," said Petra Pope, Senior Vice President of Community Relations for NETS Basketball. "We are proud to help make a difference in these students' lives."
