Late First to Early Second Round

An excellent scorer who relies more on fluidity and shooting prowess than raw athleticism to put the ball in the basket... Connected on +45% from the field, +40% from three and +80% from the line... Has a variety of moves on the perimeter, but is not as effective at the rim... Undersized and needs to add strength dimension to his game, especially when taking the ball to the basket... Questions on whether or not he will remain in the draft going into workouts... Must improve defense.

“Another guy whose reputation was well served out here. He caught it and shot it well. He competed well. He is also probably one of the most well conditioned athletes that we’re going to have in. He can play and has a good motor. Obviously where he went to school he has been well coached.” – Nets Director of Scouting Gregg Polinsky

On today’s workout:
“I thought it went pretty well. It was a great workout. It was a good group of guys and we fought and played against each other and it was a really good workout. I thought I shot the ball pretty well and I thought I did pretty well in the one on one and two on two stuff. It was an exciting workout.”
How do you see yourself fitting in the draft and where you might go?
“Probably in the 20’s to the end of the first round. That’s my goal right now and I felt that way when I came into the draft and those are the teams I’ve worked out for. New Jersey being one of those teams.”
Where do you see yourself fitting in with the Nets?
“I see myself fitting in well. I just got done talking to the GM and they need a shooter and a big guy and I think I fit in really well as a shooter here. Being from the area, at least the Philadelphia area which isn’t far from here at all and playing AAU ball in Jersey I think it would be a great fit for me.”

“All season, Wayne Ellington's shooting had been a catalyst for North Carolina's high-powered offense. His ability to demoralize opponents with a quick flick of the wrist opened up much of the rest of UNC's attack.” - Greg Found, Senior Writer for Daily TarHeel
