NEW YORK—NETS star Deron Williams is featured on an 80’ x 60’ billboard that was unveiled today in Times Square on Broadway between 42nd and 43rd Streets.
Featuring the phrase: “#8 DERON WILLIAMS & THE NETS BOUND FOR BROOKLYN,” the billboard presents a stylized image of the All-Star point guard towering next to the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. Williams is wearing a NETS uniform as he gets set to shoot a basketball toward Brooklyn. The billboard, which was secured soon after Williams was acquired by the NETS on February 23, will be on display through April 19.
“This Times Square billboard tips off our dynamic ‘Brooklyn Bound’ campaign, which will see us doing major outdoor advertising in Brooklyn on billboards and phone kiosks,” said NETS CEO Brett Yormark. “Deron is arguably the best point guard in the NBA and he will be the face of our campaign as we prepare for the team’s exciting relocation to the Barclays Center of Brooklyn in 2012.”
