Deron Williams Named to 2012 All-Star Team
Nets Point Guard Selected for Third Time in Seven-Year Career

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.—Nets guard Deron Williams has been named as a reserve on the 2012 Eastern Conference All-Star Team, as selected by the Eastern Conference head coaches. Williams will participate in the 61st NBA All-Star Game, held at the Amway Center in Orlando on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012.
An All-Star for the third time, Williams is averaging team-highs with 20.9 points and 8.6 assists along with 3.5 rebounds and 1.0 steal in 38 minutes per contest. He is shooting .411 (184-448) from the field, .353 (55-156) from behind the arc and .846 (121-143) from the line. Williams is ranked 12th in scoring, t5th in assists and 10th in minutes.
The former third overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft, Williams leads the Nets with four 30+ point games, and 14 20+ point performances. He is the only player in the NBA this season averaging 20+ points and 8+ assists. He is also the only point guard in the NBA to tally at least four 34+ point games this season. Williams is tied with Steve Nash and Ricky Rubio for the most points/assists double-doubles in the NBA with 11. When he scored a season-high 35 points along with 14 assists at Phoenix on 1/13, he became only the second Net in franchise history to record 35-or-more points and at least 14 assists in a non-overtime game. Williams has hit a career-high tying six three-pointers twice this season.
