BROOKLYN, N.Y.—The Barclays Center of Brooklyn will present its Grand Opening celebration with three weeks of spectacular programming beginning on Friday, September 28, 2012.
“We will open the Barclays Center with a three-week run of the best and most diverse entertainment this market has ever seen,” said Brett Yormark, the CEO of the Barclays Center. “Our line-up of premier concerts and events will create the most anticipated opening ever for a major new sports and entertainment venue. We plan to announce details of our programming schedule throughout this year and look forward to providing an unparalleled Grand Opening experience for our visitors at the Barclays Center.”
Prior to the official Grand Opening on September 28, the Barclays Center plans to use the first several weeks of September 2012 to host public events and tours to welcome and introduce the Brooklyn community to its new building.
Including NETS Basketball, the Barclays Center will have more than 200 events annually, including premier concerts, monthly major professional boxing cards, professional tennis, top college basketball and hockey, and family shows, such as Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus and Disney on Ice. To date, the Barclays Center has received commitments to host 149 events annually, and that list continues to grow.
Last week, NETS All Access premium season tickets for the Barclays Center were put on sale for the team’s current season ticket holders. Non-premium NETS season tickets will be implemented in different phases in 2011.
