East Rutherford, NJ- New Jersey Nets guard Marcus Williams has been named to the T-Mobile NBA All-Rookie Second Team, the NBA announced today. Williams joins Utahs Paul Millsap, Charlotte teammates Adam Morrison and Walter Hermann, Chicagos Tyrus Thomas, Minnesotas Craig Smith and Bostons Rajon Rondo on the All-Rookie Second Team.

Williams averaged 6.8 points, 3.3 assists (third amongst rookies) and 2.1 rebounds in 79 games, including two starts. For the season, Williams connected on .395 (208-of-526) of his attempts from the field and .847 (72-of-85) from the line, which was second amongst rookies. The University of Connecticut product finished the season with the third highest assist total for a Nets rookie in franchise history with 260 assists.

Selected with the 22nd overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, the 21-year old California native became the third youngest player to ever appear in a Nets uniform when he made his NBA debut vs. Toronto on 11/1. Williams is the 11th player in Nets team history to be named to the All-Rookie Team (six First Team selections and five Second Team selections).

Marcus Williams has been named to the T-Mobile All-Rookie Second Team.
