NETS Hold Final Predraft Workout on Monday
By Ben Couch
During the Nets' final official workout of the pre-draft process, the team notably welcomed Georgia guard Travis Leslie and Big East Player of the Year Ben Hansbrough, a Notre Dame product and the younger brother of Pacers forward Tyler. Joining them were a few local talents – St. John's guard Dwight Hardy and Hofstra forward Greg Washington – along with Mustapha Farrakhan (Virginia) and Bangaly Fofana (France).
Farrakhan made a few driving attacks on the rim while the media watched, and the uber-athletic Leslie hit a clean stepback jumper, addressing his major weakness ... in the smallest possible sample size. GM Billy King noted Leslie's strength in addition to the athleticism. Hansbrough, who had been dealing with a sprained ankle, felt this was his best in-person showing since suffering the injury. King praised Hansbrough's shooting and his play in the pick-and-roll.
