JAY-Z to Make Major Announcements Regarding the Barclays Center and Brooklyn's Future NBA Team

BROOKLYN, N.Y.Shawn "JAY-Z" Carter will be making major announcements regarding the Barclays Center of Brooklyn and the borough's future NBA team during a press event on the plaza at Atlantic Terminal, located at Fort Greene Place and Atlantic Avenue overlooking the under-construction Barclays Center, on Monday, September 26 at 10 a.m.

The event will be attended by Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, Forest City Ratner Companies Chairman and CEO Bruce Ratner, and Barclays Center CEO Brett Yormark.

About the Barclays Center of Brooklyn

Scheduled to open in September 2012, the Barclays Center will be a major sports and entertainment venue in the heart of Brooklyn, NY. Designed by the award-winning architectural firms Ellerbe Becket, ( ) and SHoP Architects ( ), the Barclays Center will have one of the most intimate seating configurations ever designed into a modern multi-purpose arena, with unparalleled sightlines and first-class amenities. The Barclays Center will offer approximately 18,000 seats for basketball and up to 19,000 seats for concerts, and will also have 100 luxury suites, four bars/lounges, three clubs, and a restaurant.

The Barclays Center will host an extensive variety of events, including premier concerts, monthly major professional boxing cards, professional tennis, top college basketball and hockey, family shows, such as Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus and Disney on Ice, and NETS Basketball. Current programming alliances with the Barclays Center include Golden Boy Promotions, IMG, Feld Entertainment, Lagardre Unlimited, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

In addition to Barclays, the naming rights partner, Founding Partners for the Barclays Center includes ADT, Cushman & Wakefield, EmblemHealth, MGM Grand @ Foxwoods, MetroPCS, and Stolichnaya. Other sponsors include: Willis, Haier America, Phillips-Van Heusen, Anheuser-Busch, High Point Solutions, and The Coca-Cola Company.
