STRAIGHT SEASON; STEPHON MARBURY NAMED ALL-NBA THIRD TEAM; DON CASEY RELIEVED OF
COACHING DUTIES AT CONCLUSION OF THE SEASON; NETS NAME ROD THORN AS PRESIDENT AND
BYRON SCOTT HEAD COACH.
FINAL RECORD: 31-51 (.378)
The Nets 1999-2000 season started poorly, as the team stumbled to a 2-13 mark under Head Coach Don Casey. Nets
shooting guard Kerry Kittles returned to action in December and helped the Nets reverse their fortune, as they went
10-5 in the month, closing to within six games of the .500 mark. They would not post another winning month until
March (9-7), and closed with an 11-game losing streak, including all 10 games in April. Stephon Marbury leads the
team in scoring at 22.2 ppg, and makes All-NBA Third Team. Nets hire Rod Thorn as president in June, relieve Don
Casey of his coaching duties and hire Byron Scott as head coach.
