Fox 5 Good Day Cares – September 2 The Nets Dancers and Sly participated in FOX 5's Good Day Cares Katrina Relief effort. Dancers Kesha and Angelique shared their thoughts on the importance of the nation coming together to support of the hurricane victims. Together with Sly, volunteers from AmeriCares, and Fox 5 News Reporter Katherine Creag, the dancers collected donations from New Yorkers at Jacque-Imo’s restaurant on Manhattan’s Upper Westside. Nets Dancers Auditions -- July 10-11 Over 250 dancers attended the open auditions for the Nets Dancers held on Sunday July 10th. Forty dancers were invited to return for a final audition in front of celebrity judges Paul “Cubby” Bryant of Z100, MTV VJ Vanessa, and Broadway Dance Center’s Ginger Cox. Thirteen Nets Dancers were selected to become Nets Dancers for the 2005-06 season. One additional spot was left to the fans to decide. Marla, with 62% of the vote, was selected by the fans to join the squad. |

Pre-Audition Workshop -- June 30th On June 30th over one hundred dancers attended the Nets Dancer pre-audition workshop. This workshop provided dancers with the opportunity to learn future Nets Dancer routines from New York choreographer Dominique Kelley (center) and to receive insider tips from audition judges Petra Pope (right) and Kimberlee Garris (left). |
