MINNEAPOLIS—Friday at Target Center, playing without Brook Lopez and Deron Williams, the Brooklyn Nets lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves, 111-81. Kevin Garnett, who played 12 seasons for the T-Wolves (8-6), opened the scoring with a vintage post turnaround before Minnesota answered with a three and began piling on the points.
Brooklyn (3-9) trailed 30-14 after one. The deficit grew to 20 at the half and 32 entering the fourth. It was the Nets' fourth straight loss, and seventh in eight games.
Andray Blatche scored a team-high 16 points off the bench, while Joe Johnson added 15. Reggie Evans matched Garnett with eight rebounds.
