D-Will Discusses Brooklyn Jersey Sales
Tuesday morning, the NBA announced that not only have the Nets ranked seventh in merchandise sales since April, but also done so with jerseys only going on sale September 28 after JAY Z debuted them Opening Night at Barclays Center. Star point guard Deron Williams remained able to crack the Top 15 Most Popular Jerseys, ranking No. 11, sandwiched between fellow PGs Chris Paul (10) and Russell Westbrook (12).
Williams, the first Nets player to make the list since Vince Carter ranked 10th in June 2007, got a kick out of the information.
"It’s definitely great when people are recognizing the Nets and the move to Brooklyn," Williams said. "It’s all part of the brand, and Brett Yormark has done a great job of branding this team and getting the name out there. We’ve been more visible this year."
