Brook's Busy Saturday (Morning!)
HOUSTON—Brook Lopez started Saturday early, helping famed magician Nathan Burton work his magic on the NBA All-Star Jam Session stage alongside Sprite Slam Dunk participant Kenneth Faried, Sears Shooting Stars participant Tamika Catchings and BBVA Rising Stars Challenge participant Andre Drummond.
The NBA Hoop Troop event preceded the All-Star Practice, held on Jam Session's Center Court. Lopez met with media to discuss his weekend thus far, and also his first foray into the All-Star locker room, where he changed into practice gear alongside his Eastern Conference teammates. Then it was out in front of the fans, running through coach Erik Spoelstra's offense a few warmup drils and also rounds of knockout and a shooting competition.

Lopez closed the midday session by heading across the convention center floor to CENTRO éné·be·a, where he joined celebrity chef Aquiles Chavez in a healthy cooking demonstration, learning how to make ceviche. Chavez walked Lopez through the process, with each producing a completed dish. During a break, Lopez offered Chavez some shooting tips, and the pair played a quick game of 1-on-1 ball.
