Experts’ Predicted Draft Position: Late-first to early-second round
Experts’ Take: Casspi is a very long and athletic player with an excellent frame, plus leaping and slashing ability. It’s very difficult to guard him due to his size and ability to play inside/outside. Casspi will beat bigger opponents off the dribble due to his quickness and take advantage of smaller opponents by posting them up inside. Solid three-point shooter who does not hesitate to shoot three’s if he is open (45.0% 3-PT). Casspi possesses great body control when driving to the basket and he is a good finisher around the basket. He is very quick at running the transition game and beating his opponents for lay-ups or dunks. He is a competitive player who plays with a great amount of energy every time he steps on the court. Casspi lacks body strength for the NBA, and because of that, he has difficulty guarding stronger opponents in Euroleague and in the Israeli League. He lacks great lateral quickness, and he must improve his on-and-off-the-ball defense. Though he is a solid shooter, percentage-wise, he must improve his ability to create shots for himself. He’s just an average free throw shooter and he needs to work on his shot mechanics to become a more consistent mid-range shooter.
