BACKGROUND
Career Highlights: Named Atlantic-10 Defensive Player of the Year his
junior and senior seasons, the first player in league history to earn the award
in consecutive seasons. Ranks second all-time in Richmond history with 223 career
steals. Finished collegiate career at Richmond after playing his freshman season
at Virginia Tech. Sat out the 2000-01 season at Richmond under NCAA transfer
rules. Participated in the 2004 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament.
Senior (2003-04): Averaged 11.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and
2.6 steals. Started 32 of 33 games. Led team in rebounding, assists, and steals.
Set a school single-season record with 85 steals. Posted eight double-doubles.
Scored season-high 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds against Duquesne. Tied
season-high with 20 points against La Salle. Tallied 16 points and 12 rebounds
at UAB. Scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and five steals against St.
Joseph's. Led team with 19 points and nine rebounds at Xavier. Hit game-winning
fade-away jumper with 1.3 seconds remaining in upset win at Kansas.
Junior (2002-03): Averaged 10.8 points, a team-high 5.9 rebounds (tenth
in the Atlantic-10), 3.1 assists (14th), and 2.3 steals (third). Started all
29 games. Season total of 68 steals was the fourth highest in school history.
Tied a career-high with 26 points (shooting 14-for-18 from the free throw line)
and also grabbed six steals against George Washington. Was just shy of a triple
double after accumulating 11 points, 11 rebounds, and a career-high eight assists
at Fordham. Scored 15 points, grabbed season-high 14 rebounds, and tied school
record with eight steals against Massachusetts.
Sophomore (2001-02): Averaged 9.9 points and 5.5 rebounds. Started 14
of 35 games. Scored in double figures 16 times. Posted season-high 26 points
and grabbed ten rebounds at St. Bonaventure. Scored 16 points and grabbed season-high
16 rebounds against Virginia Commonwealth. Tallied 17 points, 12 rebounds, and
season-high six steals at Radford. Registered 23 points against Mississippi
State.
Freshman (1999-00): At Virginia Tech, averaged 3.8 points in 16.4 minutes
a contest. Started 16 of 28 games. Scored 14 points in collegiate debut at William
& Mary. Tallied 13 points and seven rebounds against St. Joseph's.
Personal: Was an Atlantic-10 All-Academic Team selection.
