Chef Nikki - 3-Pointer Turkey Spaghetti & Meatballs
½ - pound ground turkey
½ - pound ground turkey sausage, casing removed
1 - egg, beaten
1 - cup parmesan cheese, grated
¼ - cup fresh parsley leaves, chopped
1 - teaspoon fresh garlic, crushed
½ - cup bread crumbs
½ - teaspoon sea salt
2 - tablespoons olive oil
½ - cup onion, chopped
3 - cups tomato sauce
1 - pound cooked spaghetti noodles
Directions
1. In a large bowl combine meat, egg, parmesan, parsley, garlic, bread crumbs & salt. Form mixture into 1½-inch balls. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add meatballs to pan & cook in batches to prevent overcrowding. Brown meatballs for 15 minutes, constantly turning to cook evenly. Remove meatballs & drain on a plate lined with paper towels.
2. Remove all but 2 tablespoons of pan drippings. Add onions to the pan & sauté them for 10 minutes. Add tomato sauce to the pan. Add meatballs to the sauce & simmer for 15 minutes.
3. In a large bowl, add hot pasta then pour sauce & meatballs over the top. Sprinkle parmesan on top & serve. ENJOY!
