2012 NBA All-Star FIT Run, Walk & Dribble

The NBA has partnered with the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation to invite runners, walkers, and dribblers of all ages to participate in the 2012 NBA All-Star FIT Run, Walk & Dribble, scheduled for 8:00 a.m, Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012 at Lake Eola in downtown Orlando. The 2012 NBA All-Star FIT Run, Walk & Dribble will feature appearances by Orlando native and NBA Legend Darryl Dawkins, as well as NBA and WNBA mascots and talent. An NBA/WNBA FIT Warm Up will tip-off the run, followed by a 5K race, a one mile walk, the Kids Fun Run & Dribble. The event will also feature a variety of free interactive activities and live music.

The top male and female in the 5K will each take home two tickets to the 61st NBA All-Star Game, which is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012 at Amway Center. The first 1,000 participants to register will receive a free ticket for NBA All-Star Jam Session, the marquee fan event of NBA All-Star that takes place February 23 26 at the Orange County Convention Center.

The race starts and finishes at Race Village at the corner of Robinson Street and Eola Drive, on the northeast corner of Lake Eola Park, in downtown Orlando. Registration fees for adults start at $24 for the 5K race and $18 the 1 Mile Walk and are each $15 for ages 17 and under. In conjunction with the race, there will also be a Kids Run & Dribble, for children 17 and under, a fan interactive area and live music, all of which are free and open to the public.
