Use zip lock bags when marinating meats or vegetables in order to reduce mess and odor contamination in your refrigerator.

Clarify butter before using it to saute in a frying pan. First you melt the butter and then put it back
in the refrigerator. Once it hardens, skim the top layer, which is the milk fat and discard. This
will help keep the remaining butter from burning in the frying pan.
