NBA Cares Celebrity Fantasy League

At 16-1, Bernie Mac leads the pack. At 1-16, Kenny Smith is in the cellar. In what Bizarro basketball universe does an actor/comedian thoroughly outshine a former pro? The answer is simple -- the NBA Cares Celebrity Fantasy League.

The NBA Cares Celebrity Fantasy League, comprised of 10 celebrities from the worlds of sports and entertainment, is in its first year of competition. In addition to playing for pride and bragging rights, the celebrity who wins will help the charity of his/her choice garner over $100,000 in donations. The 10-team "owners" came together prior to the start of the 2005-06 NBA season and drafted their respective squads, who then square off in weekly head-to-head matchups.

Rounding out the league are Pamela Anderson, ESPN.com sportswriter Bill Simmons, Matthew Modine, Cedric the Entertainer, Star Jones Reynolds, Michael Rapaport, the Phoenix Mercury's Diana Taurasi, and Samuel L. Jackson.
