Oct. 2 -- What do Magic Johnson, P. Diddy, Derrick Coleman, Ludacris, and Charles Oakley have in common?

Well, it’s not rapping. Imagine Oakley dropping a rhyme. And it’s not ballin. Imagine Ludacris driving the middle on Oakley.

No, the aforementioned were only a sampling of the celebrities who showed up to support BET’s Free and the Free4Life Foundation Sept. 23 at a celebrity pool tournament at SLATE in New York City. The event raised more than $25,000 for the Free4Life programs and featured a silent auction with items such as an autographed DVD from Halle Berry (Die Another Day), autographed sneakers from Allen Iverson (the pair he wore during the Olympic qualifying competition) and an autographed throwback jersey from Magic Johnson.

The Free4Life Foundation, established by Free in 2002, creates opportunities that support, encourage and strengthen the development of young people in Boston’s inner city neighborhoods.
