May 24, 2004 -- Who ever thought a fish could unseat a bevy of future Hall of Famers as the most popular guy in LakerLand. Well that is exactly what has happened after Derek Fisher’s Game 5 heroics against the Spurs. “I Love Fish” and “Fish For Pres” T-shirts have been popping up all over the Staples Center, even Edward Norton was sporting one. The Governor is lucky this isn’t an election year or he could have been in trouble.

Capitalizing on his celebrity status Fisher made an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. At the conclusion of Leno's monologue, Fisher appeared on-stage to talk about the incredible game-winning shot he sank with 0.4 seconds left in the game. Fisher joked, "You know what else you can do in 0.4 seconds? Hit the fast forward button on the TiVo and go right past your monologue." Ouch Fish, why you gotta punk Leno like that?

See if Fisher can keep his Finals dream alive in Game 3 vs. Minnesota tomorrow night.
