A former member of Destiny's Child is following in Jay Z's footsteps, and we're not talking Beyonce.
Just as Jay-Z took an ownership stake in the NBA's New Jersey Nets, Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child, one of the biggest selling female groups of all-time, has become a minority owner of the WNBA's newest team, the Chicago Sky.
"I'm thrilled to have a stake in the WNBA as it expands," said Williams, a Rockford, Ill., native. "I'm looking forward to being in the front row at Sky games and cheering them on to many championship seasons."
The Sky tips off its inaugural season on May 20 in Charlotte.
