The Raptors combined the values of reading with there celebration of Black History Month last week during the team’s visit with students from Humber Summit Middle School at St. Lawrence Hall.

Players including Morris Peterson, Alvin Williams, Matt Bonner, Loren Woods and Eric Williams were joined by four esteemed Canadians — former boxing champion Dr. Rubin “Hurricane” Carter, musician Molly Johnson, Toronto artist Robert Small and former Ontario Lieutenant-Governor The Honourable Lincoln Alexander, whose contributions and achievements have made a significant difference to African- Canadian culture and history -- to promote reading and on-line literacy through the NBA Read to Achieve program.
