SECAUCUS, NJ, April 23 -- NBA TV, the league's 24-hour television network, will introduce its newest original series NBA Legends with Johnny Hoops on Friday, April 25th at 6:00 PM/ET. The show, hosted by longtime NBA and Madison Square Garden commentator John Andariese, will tip off with NBA Hall of Famer and current Atlanta Hawks assistant coach Alex English.

Andariese and English talk about English's legacy as one of the top scorers in the game, his youth, his Hall of Fame induction and his coaching aspirations. The two also discuss English's most unique off-the-court interests; poetry and his "movie career" encompassing his starring role as "Amazing Grace" in the 1987 film "Amazing Grace and Chuck."

"I've been privileged to be part of the Knicks organization for the past 30 years and have had the opportunity to witness the legendary players and coaches of the NBA up close,” Andariese said. "'NBA Legends with Johnny Hoops’ will give me a great opportunity to share with NBA fans the great stories, plays, match-ups and rivalries of these individuals while also providing a look at their off-the-court personalities.”

"I'm thrilled to be part of the tip-off of ‘NBA Legends with Johnny Hoops,’” said English. This show will allow fans of all ages to share my NBA experiences."

Taped at the NBA Store on Fifth Avenue in New York City, NBA Legends with Johnny Hoops will feature an in-depth sit down interview with a different NBA legend each week drawn from the great players, coaches and personalities that have contributed to the great history of the NBA. In addition to the exclusive interviews, the show offers unique segments like "NBA Legends Snapshot" where the featured Legend comments on a special photo or film clip from his past. Another fun segment is "NBA Legends/Last Second Shots" which calls for the guest to provide quick answers to a variety of basketball and non-basketball questions. NBA Legends with Johnny Hoops, produced by NBA Entertainment with an "assist" from National Media Group, marketing agency of the NBA Coaches Association, airs on NBA TV on Fridays at 6:00 PM/ET.
