Five Original Globetrotters Specials to Air Beginning Sept. 10 (6 p.m. ET)
SECAUCUS, N.J. and PHOENIX, Aug. 31, 2005 – For almost 80 years, millions of people have been entertained by their fun-loving antics and dazzling basketball skills, and now NBA TV is bringing to life the history of the world famous Harlem Globetrotters in a series of five hour-long specials beginning Sept. 10, at 6 p.m. (ET).
The Globetrotters specials, hosted by NBA TV’s Andre Aldridge, delve into the Globetrotters rich history from the 1920’s up to the present.
Featured highlights from the specials include the following:

The second installment of the Globetrotters specials will debut on Sept. 10 at 7p.m. (ET), with the air dates for the remaining Globetrotters specials announced at a later time.
The Harlem Globetrotters have played in 117 countries and before 123 million fans worldwide. The Globetrotters will embark on their 2006 North American tour, the team's 80th consecutive season, in late December. In 2002, the organization was only the fifth team to be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame; followed by an induction into the Black Sports and Entertainment Hall of Fame and the World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame. They have also been recognized as the most popular sports team by the 2002, 2000 and 1999 Q Ratings.
