When not reporting from the sidelines of the latest NBA games, Havlicek serves as the Vice President of Marketing for NBA City, the NBA’s branded restaurant concept, located in Orlando, FL. Since its opening in 1999, Havlicek has developed and managed the restaurant’s creative marketing and advertising initiatives.

In addition to his broadcasting career, Havlicek also played varsity basketball at his alma mater, the University of Virginia, serving as team captain during the 1993-94 season and making the All-ACC Academic Team three times during his four-year playing career. While at Virginia, Havlicek served as the team's media correspondent and was a regular on the Jeff Jones Coaching Show. Havlicek has also appeared in two movies; Eddie, and Slack Trek: The X Generation.

Prior to joining the NBA City team, Havlicek worked with the Coca-Cola Company at its Atlanta, GA worldwide headquarters as an Assistant Brand Manager. Havlicek designed and implemented product development and marketing strategies for Coca-Cola’s frozen brands division.

While at Coca-Cola, Havlicek trained and competed internationally for the U.S Team Handball National Team. He also served as an alternate on the U.S. Handball Team during the 1996 Summer Olympics.
