PHILADELPHIA, Mar. 1 (AP) -- Philadelphia 76ers rookie forward Rodney Carney has a torn rotator cuff and labrum in his right shoulder.

Carney, listed as day-to-day, had an MRI exam Thursday that revealed the tear and was then examined by shoulder specialist Dr. Gerry Williams, who reviewed the test and determined the injury will not require surgery

Carney is averaging 6.3 points and 1.8 rebounds in 55 games this season.
