Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks and the Dallas Mavericks Foundation’s mission are to assist young people through programs stressing education, good health and skills necessary for their future success. The Mavs are dedicated to inspiring and motivating youth to take their education seriously, strive for healthy bodies and minds, become involved in community service activities, set personal goals, visualize their dreams and take responsibility for their own lives and neighborhoods.

The Reading Challenge's focus is to encourage students grades 2-5 throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex to read in their leisure time and to teach them that reading can be fun!
The Teacher Recognition program recognizes 10 Metroplex teachers for their hard work and efforts in the classroom and awards each of the selected winners $1,000 for themselves and $1,000 for their schools.
Every November, the Mavs host a Coat Drive and ask fans to donate new or gently used coats and/or blankets which are distributed to Metroplex shelters at the end of the program.
