Mavs Spirit Days Begin June 1st!
DALLAS (May 31, 2006) – Beginning June 1st, Academy Sports & Outdoors, Clear Channel Radio, the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth, and the Dallas Mavericks will proclaim every day Mavs Spirit Day for the remainder of the playoffs. As part of Mavs Spirit Days, fans will be encouraged to wear their Mavs gear, pick up their FREE Mavs Spirit Cards and Mavs Yard Signs, and send in photos from their cell phone to pix@4mavs.com showing how they are displaying their spirit for a chance to win prizes.

“It is essential that our sixth man, the fans, help us get pumped for all remaining games in the postseason, so we want to see everyone wearing their game faces every day from here on out,” said Mavs owner Mark Cuban. “Academy Sports & Outdoors, the AT&T Experience Store and Clear Channel stations understand that every game is crucial from here on out, and we encourage fans to stop by and get their Playoff gear and signs today!”

Every person in the DFW Metroplex will be encouraged to wear their Mavs apparel, decorate their home, car, office, and constantly show their Mavs spirit 24 hours a day. To help show their Mavs spirit, fans will be encouraged to stop by one of the 10 Metroplex Academy Sport & Outdoors locations to purchase their Mavs gear and pick up their free Mavs Spirit Cards and Mavs Yard Signs, while supplies last. The AT&T Experience store at NorthPark Mall will also be distributing Mavs Yard Signs, while supplies last.

In addition, Mavs fans will also be able to submit pictures from their cell phone of themselves and their decorated rooms, yards, offices, etc., to pix@4mavs.com, where the Dallas Mavericks will select the best images to be showcased on the team’s official Web site, mavs.com. Each day the best pictures will be posted on mavs.com, where fans will be able to view and download the pictures. One daily winner will receive a $25 Academy Sports & Outdoors gift card.

Finally, Clear Channel radio stations KDGE, KZPS, KDMX, KHKS and KEGL will be in search of Mavs fans participating in Spirit Days. Academy Sports & Outdoors has given the stations gift cards valued at $10.00 each, so the street teams at the four stations will be on the lookout for locals who are wearing Mavs gear or that have decorated their homes, offices, cars, etc., and give them an Academy Sports & Outdoors gift card.
