Mavs 2006 Playoff Song Winner Announced
DALLAS (April 18, 2006) – The Dallas Mavericks, TexasGigs.com, 106.1 KISS FM and Quick have announced that PPT’s “We’re Rowdy, Proud and Loud” is the winner of the Mavs 2006 Playoff Theme Song contest. The song and its ringtone version are both available for download right here on mavs.com.
PPT will be recognized during the Mavs vs. Clippers game on April 19, and their winning tune and accompanying video (both available for media use) will be played in-arena that night and at various times during the Mavs 2006 playoff run. Schedule permitting, they may have the opportunity to perform their winning song live at a Mavs 2006 playoff game. In addition, all fans who attend the Mavs first two home playoff games in the first round will receive a compilation CD, compliments of Quick.
The top four songs selected by fan vote – PPT’s “We’re Rowdy, Loud and Proud,” Honchie’s “Get Up on Your Feet,” Lazer’s “MFFL,” and The Feds’ “Mavs On Fire Tonight” – were judged by a panel of celebrity judges (Mavs owner Mark Cuban, Hunter Hauk from Quick, Billy The Kidd from KISS FM and Alan Cohen from TexasGigs), and announced by Mavs owner Mark Cuban live on the air with Billy The Kidd at KISS FM earlier tonight.
Thanks to all fans that visited TexasGigs.com and listened to the 19 tracks (created by local DFW bands) and voted for their favorite tunes.
