Mavs Announce Playoff Sponsorships

DALLAS (April 19, 2005) – The Dallas Mavericks have announced sponsorship partners for the 2005 Playoffs. Nextel gains top billing while Academy Sports & Outdoors, Dave & Buster’s and Budweiser also offer postseason support.

NEXTEL – PRESENTING SPONSOR OF THE 2005 PLAYOFFS
The Mavs are proud to announce that Nextel Communications Inc. (NASDAQ:NXTL) is the presenting sponsor of the 2005 Playoffs. The overall sponsorship covers a variety of areas, including incorporation into a special playoff logo, broadcast mentions, special placement on the team Web site (mavs.com), street banners in Downtown Dallas that will be up beginning April 18, premium items such as Clappers and Team Posters and advertising in The Dallas Morning News. In addition, in-game entertainment elements such as the Nextel Direct Connect® Fan of the Game will continue into the postseason. One fan per home game will be recognized on the main scoreboard and will receive a special fan pack.
